Equity Data Science (EDS) Names Sebastian Lonza as Chief Revenue Officer

Sebastian Lonza

Equity Data Science (EDS) recently announced a major executive appointment to expand its institutional market reach. The prominent investment process management firm named Sebastian Lonza as its new Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). Lonza holds both the Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designations. Consequently, he brings profound industry expertise in portfolio analytics and risk management to the company.

Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) who has been recently appointed has more than ten years of experience. Lonza was formerly the Global Head of Portfolio Risk & Analytics Distribution at Goldman Sachs Marquee. At his former place of work, he effectively oversaw growth strategies for asset managers, asset owners, and hedge funds. Before his tenure at Goldman Sachs, Lonza spent more than eight years at Bloomberg. He held multiple senior positions across risk management solutions and actively shaped product strategy.

Expanding Institutional Market Leadership

Company leaders expect this background to drive significant enterprise scaling. Co-Founder and President Greg McCall shared his perspective on the hire.

“Sebastian brings a unique combination of institutional credibility, deep domain expertise, and a proven ability to build and scale enterprise businesses. He understands the day-to-day realities of how investment teams make decisions. As EDS continues expanding our platform and delivering next-generation research, risk, performance, and AI capabilities, Sebastian is the ideal leader to help accelerate our growth,” said Greg McCall, Co-Founder and President of EDS.

The firm currently provides modern, configurable software platforms for top hedge funds. These systems blend proprietary data with third-party research to enhance client workflows. Lonza expressed enthusiasm for his new responsibilities at the growing business.

“I’m incredibly excited to join EDS at such an important stage in its growth. After a decade sitting across the table from PMs and risk teams, I’ve watched the same problem play out: investment decisions get made in spreadsheets and side systems because the core platforms don’t bend to how teams actually work. EDS solved that. The configurability is real, the AI layer is built on top of a workflow that already makes sense, and that combination is what will win this category,” said Sebastian Lonza, Chief Revenue Officer at EDS.
