commercetools Partners with Mirion Technologies to Develop the Next-Generation of B2B Commerce AI Agents

B2B Commerce AI Agents

commercetools has teamed up with Mirion Technologies to launch new B2B Commerce AI Agents. Operating as a co-design partnership, the two companies built this software to tackle a massive corporate headache. Their new B2B Intake Agent instantly transforms messy, unstructured order requests into formal quotes and shopping carts.

Right now, administrative tasks swallow roughly 70 percent of a B2B sales representative’s day. Teams routinely burn hours manually typing data from emails, spreadsheets, and PDFs into backend corporate databases. This slow, tedious process drives up corporate overhead and delays buyer response times.

The newly developed agent solves this by automatically digesting files across multiple offline formats. It reviews incoming CSV documents, emails, and PDFs to extract essential order information. From there, the system matches quantities and specific stock-keeping units against active catalog data. It then maps everything to the right business unit and account.

Eliminating Manual Order Entry

What used to take days now happens in just a few minutes. Because it features an API-first architecture, the tool links with standard customer relationship management platforms like Zendesk. This seamless integration gives enterprises a fast way to lower operational costs and lift employee output.

“Many B2B businesses have talented sales and service teams spending too much time translating incoming order requests instead of serving customers. We built this capability to apply AI where it creates immediate value inside real workflows. It helps teams move faster today, while giving businesses a practical foundation for more agentic commerce over time,” said Shiri Mosenzon-Erez, Chief Product Officer at commercetools.

“For manufacturers like Mirion, speed matters, but accuracy matters just as much. Many customer requests involve complex products, specific requirements, and workflows that cannot afford delays or errors. We see strong potential for AI to simplify order intake, improve responsiveness, and help our teams focus on solving customer needs,” said Matthew Maddox, VP of Digital Commerce at Mirion.

Ultimately, B2B Commerce AI Agents’ rollout supports the broader autonomous commerce goals championed by commercetools. The company envisions a future where artificial intelligence safely executes operational choices using preset business rules. This collaborative design approach ensures the software can handle actual workplace complexity right now.
