Smart Meter, the provider of cellular-based remote patient monitoring systems, has reported good results following its partnership with TimeDoc Health. Apart from others, Smart Meter referred to the success of SmartTouch Engage, which is an omnichannel approach to patient engagement using artificial intelligence. SmartTouch Engage improves the effectiveness of clinical, financial, and administrative performance in healthcare organizations.
Smart Meter recruited around 5,000 individuals in December 2025 and succeeded in achieving progress in 90 days. Using SmartTouch Engage, Smart Meter increased reading days by 76% in non-adherent individuals. It also raised reading consistency by 13% among historically adherent patients across RPM programs. Additionally, 13% of patients moved from minimal readings to meeting billable RPM thresholds. Another 14% improved from 1–15 reading days to more than 16 days monthly. These improvements provided healthcare providers with more consistent and actionable patient data.
“These results validate a fundamental truth in remote care – engagement drives both outcomes and economics,” said Casey Pittock, CEO of Smart Meter. “SmartTouch Engage ensures patients stay connected, generating the consistent, high-quality data that our partners, like TimeDoc Health, and their customers need to deliver better care, and capture the full value of RPM reimbursement.”
Driving Revenue and Scaling RPM Programs
SmartTouch Engage helps healthcare organizations maximize reimbursement under RPM codes like CPT 99445 and CPT 99454. It also supports additional reimbursement through CPT codes 99470, 99457, and 99458 for clinical monitoring time. By increasing patient reading frequency, the platform delivers clear financial benefits for healthcare providers. At an average reimbursement of $100 per patient monthly, providers gain over $33,000 in additional revenue. Projected annual revenue growth exceeds $405,000 through consistent patient engagement improvements.
SmartTouch Engage builds a continuous cycle of clinical and financial value for providers.
More readings generate better data, which increases monitoring time and intervention opportunities. Greater clinical engagement expands eligibility for time-based reimbursement under evolving healthcare models.
“SmartTouch Engage has transformed how we approach patient engagement,” said Aqil Chishty, CEO of TimeDoc Health. “We’re seeing increased device utilization, which allows our clinical teams to intervene earlier, spend more meaningful time with patients, and ultimately deliver better care for our customers’ patients, while also improving the financial performance of our providers’ RPM programs.”
