Munchkin Inc. announced a key executive leadership expansion today. The WHY Brands subsidiary appointed Shaun J. Smith as Chief Revenue Officer. Smith takes charge of commercial strategy to drive next-stage enterprise growth. Consequently, he will manage sales and marketing operations across all key channels. Munchkin relies on its incoming Chief Revenue Officer to deepen retail partner relationships.
Strategic Leadership and Track Record
Executive leadership welcomed Smith’s extensive commercial track record across major consumer markets.
“Shaun’s track record is exactly what we need at Munchkin as we accelerate our next phase of growth,” said Steven B. Dunn, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of WHY Brands. “His experience building sophisticated omnichannel strategies, deepening retail partnerships, and driving disciplined revenue growth management will be instrumental as we continue to elevate our commercial organization toward strategic, insights-driven collaboration with our retail partners.”
Smith joins Munchkin following more than 15 years at Unilever. Most recently, he served as Global Head of Business Development at Unilever. There, he directed the successful commercial integration of personal care brand Dr. Squatch. That transaction represented Unilever’s largest consumer acquisition in over five years. Furthermore, he scaled multiple emerging consumer brands to multi-billion-dollar revenue benchmarks. His experience covers direct P&L ownership across major retail platforms. Key partner channels include Amazon, TikTok, Target, Walmart, Kroger, and Costco. His transition into the Chief Revenue Officer role brings proven commercial scaling capabilities.
The incoming Chief Revenue Officer outlined his strategic vision for the commercial organization.
“Munchkin has built an extraordinary legacy of innovation and consumer loyalty, and I’m excited for the opportunity to help write its next chapter,” said Smith. “I look forward to partnering closely with our retail partners and with teams across the organization to translate category-level insights into demand-driving strategies, and to build the kind of commercial engine that supports durable, profitable growth.”
Omnichannel Realignment and Corporate Mission
As Chief Revenue Officer, Smith holds full profit and loss responsibility for Sales and Marketing. Therefore, he will realign Munchkin’s retail partnerships toward insights-driven collaborations. This strategy accelerates consumer demand, sell-through velocity, and long-term margin expansion.
On the other hand, Munchkin continues growing its brand purpose in various areas of infant care around the world. The organization is dedicated to its brand purpose that aims at empowering parents with innovative ideas for childhood. Munchkin has more than 350 patents and over 250 international design awards. Currently, its products can be found in more than 50 countries around the world. Smith will make sure that innovations in its products will generate revenue for the brand. In this regard, the commercial foundation of the brand will grow.
