French fashion retailer Gémo has announced an official partnership with Algolia. The brand implemented the vendor’s specialized AI Search platform to upgrade its digital commerce operations. This technology launch includes an AI Ranking feature. The feature boosts popular search results utilizing real-time customer behavior. Consequently, the retailer transformed its online discovery process into a measurable system for corporate expansion.
As a result, the initiative delivered significant financial results for the fashion company. Gémo managed to experience an impressive 2.3x increase in conversions. Additionally, the retail company enjoyed an outstanding 160x return on investment. Algolia currently powers over 1.75 trillion annual queries for more than 18,000 global businesses. Today, this AI Search infrastructure drives one-third of total digital revenue for the French retailer.
Optimizing the Retail E-Commerce Experience
The retail enterprise runs its digital platforms in addition to a store-based structure with over 400 physical stores. The category managers utilize Merchandising Studio software to manage digital experiences. The platform allows for separate updates for increasing the visibility of certain products depending on seasonality. Moreover, the use of the software incorporates the functionality of AI Synonyms in order to reduce the rate of zero search results.
Elsa Souillart, Category Manager at Gémo, detailed the operational impact.
“As we deepen our investment in ecommerce and omnichannel growth, Algolia has become core to our digital strategy, establishing a strong groundwork for next-generation, AI-powered experiences and conversational discovery experiences. Beyond delivering exceptional returns, it has helped us build a more intuitive, seamless search journey for our customers, whilst equipping our teams with the tools to continuously optimize relevance and drive conversions. This was something that was once exceptionally challenging to achieve, given the scale of our catalog.”
Algolia uses a unified keyword and vector engine to deliver scalable technology. The platform also offers an Agent Studio tool for creating generative applications.
Nate Barad, Vice President of Product and Technical Marketing, shared his perspective.
“Guided by its ‘tailored for family life’ ethos, Gémo is focused on making everyday life for families easier. Fast, seamless AI-powered search plays a critical role in that mission by helping busy parents find the right apparel quickly and at the right price. We’re thrilled that Algolia has helped elevate their mission, turning search into a meaningful driver of growth.”
