Conversica Launches Ignite AI Revenue Activation Engine for Automotive Retail as Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital Leads Majority Recapitalization

Automotive Retail

Conversica Ignite is redefining automotive retail by introducing an AI-native Revenue Activation Engine built for dealerships and dealer groups. Conversica Ignite also marks another important development, with the company unveiling its majority recapitalization through a fund controlled by Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital. As part of this deal, Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital will take majority ownership, while the Conversica leadership remains at the helm of the company and maintains a substantial ownership stake.

The automotive retail space is changing, and the demands on businesses from consumers include increased transparency, speed, and personalization. But despite this shift, many dealers still struggle with the problem of siloed technology that keeps information on customers, vehicles, sales, and service work separated. Employees have to go through various platforms to collect information before being able to serve customers.

Conversica developed Ignite to solve this challenge. The platform connects customer, vehicle, service, sales, and conversation data from the systems dealerships already use every day. Consequently, dealers gain a unified context layer that reveals hidden revenue opportunities while improving customer engagement.

Ignite Links Data to Better Customer Experiences

Ignite consolidates information contained in dealer management systems (DMS), customer relationship management (CRM) platforms, communication channels, and transaction records into one intelligent platform. That means dealerships can better identify customers approaching lease milestones, equity opportunities, declined service appointments, missed F&I opportunities, and potential repeat buyers.

Ignite does not replace existing dealership software, but rather integrates with existing systems. It also allows for the creation of customized omnichannel campaigns over email, SMS, chat, phone, and other communication channels for dealerships. Every interaction is a story of the customer’s history, vehicle ownership, and needs today.

Customers benefit from more relevant communication, clearer recommendations, and consistent experiences across every touchpoint. Meanwhile, dealership employees receive valuable customer insights before every interaction. This context allows sales professionals and service advisors to deliver informed conversations without manually searching across multiple systems.

Dealer groups also gain broader visibility across locations. In addition, leadership teams can monitor store performance, inventory movement, customer demand, and market conditions through a unified intelligence layer. Since Ignite continuously learns from dealership outcomes, the platform becomes increasingly valuable over time.

“Customers increasingly expect speed, transparency, and control across every buying and ownership interaction,” said Mike Gilson, CEO of Conversica. “Dealers already have the relationships, service history, local presence, and customer data to deliver that experience in a more trusted and personal way. The problem is that too much of that context is locked inside disconnected systems. Ignite puts that context to work, helping dealers compete on trust, activate more revenue from the relationships they already have, and prove that doing right by the customer is also the most profitable way to run the business.”

“Automotive retail is at an inflection point, and we believe the dealerships that can activate their customer data across the full lifecycle will be best positioned to grow,” said Nick Nocito, Managing Director at Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital. “Conversica has built the intelligence layer to make that possible, helping dealers turn fragmented data into trusted customer experiences and measurable revenue opportunities across the enterprise.”

The recapitalization will support Conversica’s plans to expand Ignite across dealer groups, strengthen its AI capabilities, and extend the channels through which dealerships activate revenue opportunities. However, the companies did not disclose the financial terms of the transaction.
